I won’t settle.

Have you heard me scream?

I won’t give up my dream.

So many times I’ve settled for Prince Harming,

Rather than courageously wait for Prince Charming;

Settled for a Bozo,

Whose heart was a no-show.

Despairing over my absent knight in shining armor,

I was escorted into the arms of a carnival charmer.

My Designer has dreamed much better for me,

I won’t settle for a man whose love I can’t see.

Drinking in moderation; is it a sin or not?

I recently had a disagreement with someone very special to me regarding this subject. Drinking in moderation is viewed differently among Christians. I have never been addicted to alcohol, in fact I haven’t had a desire to drink in quite some time. God has only dealt with me regarding drinking alcohol in two different ways: (1) drinking in public (2) drinking with a male other than my husband. I have never felt in my Spirit that it was wrong if I decided to have a glass of wine….in fact, the last time I drank I enjoyed a Pina Coloda that was offered to me by my parents, my mind or decision making wasn’t altered.

In the bible I’ve only ever seen where drunkeness is a sin. I’ve been studying the Word this weekend hoping for a revelation. If the Word states that a Christian should not drink at all….someone please let me know.

So it has been said to me that if I have a calling on my life I should not drink at all, ever. I do agree that we are called to live as examples of Christ…to me that means choose wisely when and where I may have some wine. Also, if I were preparing myself for God’s work or fasting I would not drink. Am I wrong? I believe that I have a calling on my life and am willing to give up drinking for good, however I will only do it because it is God’s will not because someone else says its wrong. I have often thought of how romantic it might be on occasion to enjoy some wine or champagne with my husband now and then, when I have one of course!

In my heart I truly desire to have a right mind concerning this matter. I ask for your opinion and scripture references on this; I am desperatly seeking revelation!

April Already? “Time to get busy!”

This was an awesome week for me in many different ways. I was given the opportunity to sow into the life of someone I love very dearly. Before I sowed the seed however….I was tempted to sell it instead for financial reasons. The Spirit immediately dealt with me everytime a selfish thought came into my mind. God patiently reminded me to give when He says give and leave the rest up to Him. Because I trust Him with all my heart I gave up the most expensive thing I own and it felt awesome!!!

2 Corinthians 9:7
Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, “prompt to do it”) giver [whose heart is in his giving]. (Amplified Bible)

Also this week I decided to move out of the house I’ve lived in for the past three years and lease an apartment. My financial situation has been on my heart for quite some time and recently I’ve been praying for wisdom and direction to get me back on track and to a position to save money. God responded that I must change my living arrangements as well as spending habits to get out of debt and prepare for the awesome future He has planned for me (Jeremiah 29:11). Downsizing to this apartment will save me a considerable amount each month…

Exodus 31:3
And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom and ability, in understanding and intelligence, and in knowledge, and in all kinds of craftsmanship, (Amplified)

I confess that God has given me wisdom and ability to get out of debt, understanding and intelligence to use my money correctly and talent to receive increase on my job! Amen!!

This week has been so good….I’m looking forward to what next week brings!

Everything is permissible (allowable and lawful) for me; but not all things are helpful (good for me to do, expedient and profitable when considered with other things). Everything is lawful for me, but I will not become the slave of anything or be brought under its power.
